Adrienne Nance

July 1, 1955 — June 14, 2025

Adrienne gained her wings on June 14th, 2025. at St. Mary's Hospital. In the famous words of Adrienne "I didn't live to be 69 for nothing".

Ms. Adrienne Nance was the eldest daughter of Pearl and Wesley Adams. She was born on July 1st, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois. Adrienne went to an all girls Catholic grade school and High School. Adrienne had 3 siblings: Wesley Tyrone Adams, Myra Lun-ya Adams, and Orin Maurice Adams. Adrienne moved to Minnesota to pursue an education in nursing.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her 2 children: Thalia Tonice Nance and Maizie Loreal Nance. Adrienne has 4 grandchildren: Caleb Joel Nance (26), Joshua Xavier Eckles (23), Samarah Pearl Benson (22), and Jeramiah Tyray Keith Sumrall (12). Lastly, Adrienne has an emotional support animal named Bear, who was always attentive to Adrienne and would bring her one of his toys when she wasn't feeling well.

Adrienne spent long, hard overnight hours, where she was thanked by many patients for her excellent care as a registered nurse at St Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. She is one of the few black nurses at the Mayo Clinic. She paved the way for her daughter, Maizie, and her granddaughter, Samarah, to follow in her footsteps.

Some knew Adrienne as Ms. Nance, some knew her as Mama Nance, some knew her as Ada-B, but we now know her as the queen. Because that's what she was.

Anyone who met Adrienne knew that she was the kindest soul. She would always give her last to anyone in need. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.

Adrienne will be preceded in death by her mother Pearl Lee Adam (Treadwell), her father Wesley Adams, her sister Myra Lun-ya Adams, and her brother Welsey Tyrone Adams.

A visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Maxon Family Cremation & Life Celebrations.

The burial will follow the visitation at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
