Akshath Sai Kishore Singh was 27 years young when an unforeseen accident took his life on July 16, 2026. He was living in Dallas, TX, pursuing his dream of becoming a pilot through the American Airlines cadet program.
Akshath embodied authenticity and took life in stride with his happy-go-lucky outlook. He was warm and dependable, like the Sun. His smile was radiant, his laugh felt like a hug, and his presence anchored us all. He valued all forms of life and greeted every person, animal, and natural element who crossed his path with effortless empathy.
Born on April 29, 1999, in Bangalore, India, he was a playful, charismatic, and mischievous child; he never quite outgrew these traits. Motivated by love, he went to great lengths for a simple smile from those he adored. He was fascinated by planes from a young age and eventually channeled his curiosity into pursuing his dream career: to be a pilot. Manifesting this dream was no small feat, but he was determined and ultimately enjoyed the journey. He completed his early education in India until he moved to the United States in 2014 for high school. Akshath engaged with his interests through after-school activities, including competitive swimming, running cross-country, and volunteering at Mayo Clinic. His absolute favorite class in high school was Sports Biology, where he had the opportunity to explore and traverse the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota. His part-time job at Moka inspired his interest in culinary arts. Akshath had a knack for transforming his interests into love languages, crafting beverages and preparing delicacies to share with the people in his life. Like most messy teenagers, his mom nagged him to clean his room on a daily basis. In response, he gifted his parents a decorative mantel block that read, "Memories last, clean houses won't." He embodied this quote and embraced the constant overflow of family, friends, laughter, and mess in our home. When he flew from the nest, his first destination was New York City. For nearly three years, he traveled the world as an international flight attendant through American Airlines. As a fervent world traveler, he loved his NYC base for its diverse cultures and cuisines. The greatest gift New York gave him is his loving community and lifelong friendships. Flight attending gave him a taste of his dream, but his passion for aviation could only be satiated by steering through the skies as a pilot. Akshath earned his private, commercial, and instrumentation pilot licences through an intensive training program for American Airlines cadets. He was only a month away from graduation. Akshath navigated his time on Earth with a sense of adventure, grounded by his appreciation for the journey more than any destination.
Akshath was a polymath, known to others as a walking, talking encyclopedia. He had an amazing general knowledge of topics ranging from cars to the cosmos. He could tell you the model of any plane in the sky with remarkable accuracy, just by hearing the sound from the ground. He was talented on the guitar and frequently attended live music events, always seeking immersive sensory experiences. He was sentimental about his sand bottle layered with grains from every shore he walked; he was determined to visit every National Park, collecting stickers as his only keepsake. As a photographer, he preserved the beauty in the world through his camera lens, allowing his loved ones to appreciate his unique perspective. Anyone who knew him could speak to his vibrant authenticity. Akshath easily made friends and found deep satisfaction in bringing all his loved ones together. He was notorious for being the first to laugh- unapologetically-at his own jokes. Even if they didn't land, the room filled with infectious laughter. Akshath dared the mystery of life with unwavering optimism; he painted every moment with joy, because he understood the magic of positivity.
Akshath is predeceased by his Dad, Sai Kishore Singh. Akshath is survived by his Mom, Hema Sai Kishore; Dad, Mangesh Mane; three siblings: Mansee, Trupti, Soham; Grandmother, Usha Ganga [Nani]; his beloved pet, Milo, Great Uncle: Sudarsan Prasad, Great Aunt: Gokila Bai; Uncles : Pramod, Sunil, Sandip, Pradeep, Mohan, Rajeev ; Aunts : Rajani, Vijaya, Rekha, Bindu, Deepika, Dhauna, and extended family and cousins. He is cherished by many friends across the country and around the world. Akshath put his whole heart into all of his pursuits. He traveled the world, lived a life full of adventures, and made lasting connections throughout his journey. People often asked Akshath about his dream destinations, but his favorite/most cherished landing spot was the people he called home.
