Carol S. Clemens, 80, died on January 3, 2026 at Lake City Care Center from declining memory issues. where she was a resident for 2 years.

Carol Susane (Laqua) Clemens was born on June 28, 1945 to Leo and Viola (Schultz) Laqua at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Wabasha, MN. She attended schools at Plainview, Millville and graduated from Wabasha High School in 1963.

On June 26, 1971 she married John Clemens at St Patrick's Catholic Church, West Albany, MN. They were members of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Mazeppa and janitors there for 7 years. Carol worked at Lakeside Cannery, Red Wing Industries, and retired from both IBM & Celestica in the circuit card areas. She was Achievement Award selection at IBM and was awarded a tour trip to Arizona.

Carol enjoyed crafts & flower gardening. For a period of time she baked decorative and wedding cakes. She was active in snowmobiling & they attended vintage sled events.

Carol traveled with husband John to vintage flywheel engine events attending at Tatton Park Rally, London, England; Austin, Manitoba, Canada; Coolspring, Pa; and many US states:

Carol was a caretaker of many cats over the years, Fred survives her. She also had a pet woodchuck as child & raccoon as a pet during early married life.

Carol is survived by her husband, John; sister-in-law, Shirley Laqua; 4 nephews, Lester Jr., Vincent, Corey & Cameron; 3 nieces, Wilhemena, Carey & Sarah; and Schultz family cousins.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Leo & Viola; 3 brothers; William & wife Joan, Lester, Ronald & wife Norma; infant sister; and niece, Anna.

Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Mazeppa, Mn, with Fr. Shawn Haremza officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Mazeppa.
