Delbert Van Grevenhof

Delbert (Del) Van Grevenhof, 87, of Rochester, MN, passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at his home.

Del was born September 20, 1938 in Austin, MN, to Clarence & Hazel (Martin) Van Grevenhof. He graduated from Austin High school in 1956 After graduation, he joined the Navy in 1957, where he trained to be an Xray Technician. He was a member of the base softball team which included a lot of travel. He met Priscilla in Pennsylvania and was married for 67 years. Del was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1959, afterward they moved to Minnesota in 1960. He worked at Mayo Clinic for 39 years as an x-ray dental tech and as a supervisor for the department. Many weekends were spent playing couples cards or dancing to 50's 60's music. Del and Priscilla were always working on a project together. They had an antique business where they sold furniture that Del refinished. They rebuilt a 1952 MG-TD and a Triumph TR3.

He was so proud of the hardwood floors he laid in the home they built. Del enjoyed bowling, softball, baseball, hunting, golf, road trips. As an avid pheasant hunter, Del trained several of his beloved golden retrievers to be by his side. Over the years, he could be found with either his family, friends or golden retrievers. He loved going to his daughters and grandchildren's, sporting events. Because of that he never was able to watched a Super Bowl.

Del is survived by his wife, Priscilla; daughters, Linda (Jim) Freedman and Wendy Cook; grandchildren, Paige Cook (Ryan Kennedy) and Austin (Luanda) Cook.

Del is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held in the chapel at Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 1:00pm
