Francis Deutschle

Francis "Jim" Deutschle, 78, of Rochester, died Sunday afternoon, November 9, 2025 at Methodist Hospital.

Jim was born April 1, 1947 in Bellefonte, PA to Francis and Phoebe Ann Deutschle. He married his wife, Sharon Sirois, on October 3, 1970.

Jim graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he spent three years at Control Data in Minneapolis, MN. He then joined the army and completed Officer's Candidate School and Airborne and Ranger training. He left the army after three years as a 1st Lieutenant. After the military, he had a long career (35 years) at IBM in Rochester, MN. He cared deeply about his family and was a active member of Bethel Lutheran Church for 50 years.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sharon Deutschle, his sons, Craig (Cherry) and Kyle (Heather) Deutschle, his grandchildren Mary Jane Ballard (Kerby), Anna and Sophie Deutschle, his step grandson Zee, his great grandson Parks Ballard, his brother, Dennis Deutschle, and his nieces Heather (Chuck) Phillips and Megan (Josh) Hall. He is preceded in death by his parents.

The memorial service for Jim will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 12th at Bethel Lutheran Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethel Lutheran Church.
