Janice Ann Erwin, 92, Douglas Minnesota passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 9th in Douglas. Visitation will be held at the Douglas United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 13th at 10:00 AM with funeral service at 11:00 AM, Pastor Dave Neil officiating.
Janice was born on April 1, 1933, in rural Pine Island, Minnesota, the daughter of Anna Berg Harper and Raymond Harper. In 1950, she graduated from Pine Island high school and began working at the Mayo Clinic. She married Richard W Erwin on March 19, 1955, for the next 70 years they made their home in Douglas Minnesota.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Richard W. Erwin; her children Craig (Milena) Erwin, Lori (Dan) Root, Brian (Kay) Erwin, and Wes (Debby) Erwin; ten grandchildren, Josh (Chelsea) Erwin, Nate (Katelyn) Erwin, Christopher (Emily) Root, Jonathan (Abbie) Root, Stefan Erwin, Dylian Erwin, Wyatt Erwin, Jordan Erwin, Kassie (Brady) Russ, Kristen (Alex Christianson) Clark; five great grandchildren, Ross Root, Olivia Christianson, Ella Root, Leo Christianson, and Connor Root; brother, Ken (Neletta) Harper; many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Robert Harper, Donovan Harper, and LaVonne Maki.
Janice was a devoted mother and homemaker. She loved relationships, people, children, chocolate, music, flowers, square dancing, babies, and opportunities to bless those around her. She lived her faith in an active and loving way.
She touched many lives, and her love lives on in those she encountered. Many people called her their angel.
