Jerry Lee Finch

Cannon Falls, MN: Jerry L. Finch, 67, of Cannon Falls, MN died peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Zumbrota Health Services after a lengthy illness and a glorious victory by the MN Vikings on Sunday over the Green Bay Packers.

Jerry was born March 15, 1959, to Gerald and Anna (Dewees) Finch in Council Bluffs, IA, and moved to Cannon Falls, MN, when he was 10. He attended and graduated from Cannon Falls High School in 1977.

Jerry served in the Air Force as a MPO (Military Police Officer) from 1977-1981, during the Cold War, guarding ICBMS in Montana. In 2025, Jerry participated in an Honor Flight to Washington, DC.

He loved all sports, especially the MN Vikings, Wild, and Twins. He also enjoyed all kinds of music and attended many concerts, including the Rolling Stones, The Who and Elton John.

A man who always had a smile on his face and was happy walking around town, riding his bicycle, or cruising on his scooter, making friends wherever he went. Jerry was a hard worker at McDonald's and Family Fare for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and assisted with the Youth Program. Jerry volunteered with the Jaycees and donated to the Youth Sports Programs in Cannon Falls and Northfield, MN. Jerry will be remembered for his humor, his spiritual beliefs, gratitude, and ability to always look on the brighter side of things.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Anna, and siblings Don and Susan; he is survived by 2 nephews, a niece, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lundberg Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 from 11a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Prayer Service and Remembrance with Pastor Brad Bergland will be at 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Cannon Falls Cemetery with Military Honors by Cannon Falls VFW Post 4452. Everyone attending is encouraged to wear MN Vikings apparel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Cannon Falls VFW Post 4452 renovation project.
