Jerry Alfred Jensen

Jerry was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 21, 1936. He lived on a farm with his parents and siblings until 1957. He moved to Rochester, Minnesota where he met and married Ione Mae Jacobson on May 17, 1958. Jerry became an ironworker and worked out of the Twin Cities local. They had three kids Brenda (Dave) Radel of Oronoco, Jay (Jean) Jensen of Rochester and Danny Jensen of Orr, Minnesota. Jerry was a member of the youth hockey association and coached several teams that his sons played on. He was an avid deer hunter that made a trip to Superior National Forest every year. He hunted with his sons and some friends for over thirty years. During those trips the party stayed in an Army surplus tent, slept on cots and cooked on charcoal grills and a gas stove. Jerry really enjoyed those trips. Jerry retired from the ironworker trade and then worked a few years for Custom Truck and Equipment. In 1995 Jerry and Ione purchased property in Siren, Wisconsin and built a new home near Lake Viola. They enjoyed the home for thirty years and kept an immaculate yard and a beautiful flower garden. On March 3, 2026, they moved back to Meadow Lakes Senior Living to be closer to family. Ione passed away on March 31, 2026, after time in the hospital dealing with the effects of a broken hip and COPD. Jerry remained at Meadow Lakes until his congestive heart failure landed him at Madonna Towers, and he passed away on August 3rd.

Jerry is survived by his children, Brenda (Dave) Radel of Oronoco, Jay (Jean) Jensen of Rochester, and Danny Jensen of Orr, Minnesota; 4 grandchildren, Jeremy Kittleson, Tara Kittleson, Erin Huey (Jensen), Andrea "Anna" Jensen; 3 great grandchildren, Logan Spratte, Colton Spratte, and Elara AL-Kaissy; sister, Viriginia Mattson (Jensen) of Rochester.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Catherine (Hall) Jensen; his wife of 67 years, Ione; 3 brothers, and daughter-in-law Michelle Wood Jensen; fur babies Foxy and Bandit.

 The family wishes to thank Season's Hospice for their services and compassionate care during this difficult time. The family is not planning a memorial service at this time.
