Judy Lynn Hudson Moyer passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Whitewater Nursing Home in St. Charles, MN. Judy was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Judy was born to Charles "Bill" and Eleanor Beth (Stowe) Hudson in Kansas City, MO on September 13, 1949. At a young age, the family moved to Rochester, MN where she lived for the rest of her life. On September 23, 1978, Judy married the love of her life, Darryl Robert "Hoss" Moyer, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Together they had two children, Jesse (Courtnee) Moyer of Hamilton, OH (grandchildren Cooper Edwards Moyer and Bentley Hudson Moyer), and Jennifer (Jesse) Laganiere of Rochester. She was survived by her sister, Janet Kay "Kayke" (Roy) Stephenson of Rochester and her many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Hoss, her parents, Bill and Eleanor Hudson; her brother, Paul Charles Hudson, and her sister, Karen Sue York.
Judy spent most of her career at IBM in Rochester, retiring in 2010 after over 30 years of service. She made many long-lasting friendships during her time there, and enjoyed playing jokes on, and with, her co-workers.
While her life often revolved around caring for her family, later in life she found two things she loved very much: sewing and her grandchildren. She often combined those passions, creating countless quilts for Cooper and Bentley over the years. Judy also enjoyed taking in sewing projects for family and friends and spent many hours making quilts for those she loved. In recent years, she enjoyed playing cards with friends and developed a particular fondness for poker.
The family wishes to thank the many longtime friends who have supported Judy over the years. The family would like to especially thank her niece, Dawn Kennedy, for all the support she has given Judy, Jenni, and Jesse.
A celebration of Judy's life will be at 11:00 AM held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stewartville, MN on Thursday, May 28, 2026. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the service to follow. A reception with light refreshments will take place after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
