Linda Kay Zwick, age 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026, surrounded by her family. A service to celebrate Linda's life will be on January 15, 2026 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Westgate Church, located at 705 County Rd 101, Plymouth, MN. Visitation one hour beforehand.
Linda was born on August 19, 1961 to Ronald and Marvel Johnson. She was raised in Minnesota and grew up on the water, spending summer days at the cabin with family and friends. She was outgoing and athletic, an excellent waterskier and swimmer. She was also a gifted musician and played piano in the state competition. Linda loved coming up with adventures and choreographing dances with her friends, which continued through her adulthood.
Linda graduated from Lindbergh High School and later got a degree from Metropolitan State. After graduating from college, she worked for a time as a bank teller before joining the family business, Johnson Paper. It was there that she met her husband Michael when he made a sales call. Erin was born a few years later, followed by Sara. Linda loved being a mother and spent many years as a stay at home mom. Her grandson James was the light of her life and they brought each other immense joy.
Linda loved spending time in northern Minnesota where she enjoyed camping with Michael and exploring every scenic overlook together. In later years, Linda and Michael vacationed all over the country and internationally as well, enjoying the adventure of being in new places. A throughline in Linda's life was her ability to build enduring friendships everywhere she went. She had many adventures with her lifelong best friend Jill, often floating on the lake together so long that they needed a boat rescue. Linda had so much fun with her group of friends, the Beavers, who always lifted her up and cheered her on. She was also a friend to animals, doting on her small dogs and cats.
Linda was a gifted gardener, who nurtured plants and people alike. She was always happiest among her flowers and created the most beautiful garden every summer, where she blew countless bubbles for James. Her warmth and laughter were infectious, brightening the lives of those around her. One of the many ways Linda cared for others was through her creative talents. Over the years, she made hundreds of crocheted prayer shawls for those in need of comfort. Linda had a way of making even simple things more beautiful, from handmade Halloween costumes for her girls to perfectly wrapped gifts to expertly arranged veggie trays. She could carve a watermelon into any animal you wanted. Linda had an unwavering faith in God and shared that faith with everyone she met. She took comfort in knowing God was waiting for her to return home. Now, she is wrapped in the loving arms of Jesus and all her family and friends that have gone before her.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Michael; children, Erin (Micah) & Sara (Cameron); grandson, James; parents, Ronald & Marvel; brother, Larry (Charlene); father-in-law, Basil; and soul sister, Jill (Dave); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
