Robert Wood

December 28, 1948 — November 5, 2025

Robert "Bob" was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota. In 1967, he married the love of his life, Linda Kramer, and together they shared 58 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

In 1968, Bob and Linda moved to Iowa, where he began what would become a lifelong journey of craftsmanship and creativity. A true master of many trades, Bob discovered his greatest passion in building. He founded two overhead garage door companies, one in Rochester, Minnesota, and another in Iowa, and later spent five years traveling with Nordaas American Homes. His experiences there inspired him to start his own construction company, where he poured his heart into creating spaces that would stand the test of time.

In 1996, Bob's faith and dedication to service led him on a mission trip with the First United Methodist Church of Austin, Minnesota. Alongside six others, he travelled to Uganda, Africa, to help build a permanent structure that would serve as a church and community centre for the village of Kagome, an experience he often described as life changing.

Wisconsin was Bob's sanctuary, his "God's Country," as he lovingly called it. There, he found peace in the simple joys of life: summers spent fishing, relaxing by the water, and making memories with family and friends.

Bob's legacy lives on in the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the many projects that reflect his craftsmanship and faith.

Bob is preceded in death by his father Robert L. Wood and his brothers Larry and Tom Wood.

Bob is survived by his wife Linda; Mother Caroline Price; his children Julie Halferty and Rachelle Wood; his sister Jeanne Wood (Tyler Weems); his grandchildren Taylor Christopherson, Nick, and Jake Halferty.

Family and friends will be invited to a celebration of life to honor Bob; the celebration will be held at Marion Road Christian Church in Rochester Minnesota. Further details will be announced later.
