Steve graduated at the top of his class at Clarksville High School in 1980 and attended the University of Iowa where he continued his academic success receiving the Les Asher Scholarship for full tuition all 4 years and once again, graduated at the top of his class.
He built a highly respected career working as an electrical engineer and manager for 21 years at IBM Rochester. He was a devoted husband, a loving father to his son Alexander of Hay Market, VA and daughter Emily of Rochester. He was someone whose steady presence brought comfort and strength to those around him.
Steve found joy in the outdoors and especially loved hiking, cycling, golf, and traveling with Sylvia. They were avid cruisers and looked forward to many more trips. Whether exploring a trail, planning a trip, or simply enjoying time on the deck, he appreciated life's quiet moments and natural beauty. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan even through the lean years and a devoted Iowa Hawkeye fan. A faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Rochester, Steve lived with humility, kindness, and deep care for others. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to his family, his contagious laugh, mischievous sense of humor and the calm strength he carried throughout his life.
