Rochester

Susan "Sue" Fauver Johnson passed away peacefully at home June 28, 2026 after a courageous 10-year journey with dementia at the age of 78. Sue was born Susan Marie Fauver in Rochester, Minnesota, to Corald and Myrta Fauver. She grew up in Stewartville, where she graduated from Stewartville High School in 1966 with honors.

Sue's dedication to caring for others was reflected in her lifelong career as a pharmacist. She began working at Berg Pharmacy in Stewartville while still in high school, went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota, and served in several local pharmacies throughout her career. She retired from pharmacy management at Mayo Clinic in 2010 after 22 years of devoted service.

Sue married Dennis Segar, and together they had three children. They later divorced. Later in life, Sue met the love of her life, Ray Johnson. Ray's proposal, during a hiking and camping trip to the Grand Canyon, marked the beginning of a cherished partnership and many wonderful adventures together. Sue and Ray shared a life filled with perpetual date nights, meaningful companionship, and world-wide travel.

Sue found joy in life's simple and beautiful moments. She loved reading, gardening, quilting, and cross-stitching. She was a wonderful cook known especially for her cranberry bread and cookies. Sue treasured her family. She and Ray rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her grandchildren at their many activities, and they were truly her pride and joy.

Sue is survived by her husband, Ray; her three children, Nate Segar of Onalaska, Wisconsin, Eric (Nicole) Segar and Briana (Eric) Bicknese of Stewartville; and two step-sons, Ryan (Anne) Johnson of Anchorage, Alaska, and Brent (Alison) Johnson of Rochester. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Norah Segar, Adelyn Segar, Kaleb Hellickson, Kaia and Quinn Bicknese, Madison and Emily Streiff, and Loden, Maren, and Lachlan Johnson. Other survivors include her twin brothers, Bob (Cheryl) Fauver of Stewartville and Ric Fauver of Colorado Springs; her first husband, Denny; daughter-in-law Traci Segar; three nephews; one niece; and multiple great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Mary, Katherine (Kathy), Lisa, and Denise for their personal care and friendship over the years.

A service and final interment will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Channel One Food Bank, Bethel Lutheran Church Endowment, or an organization meaningful to the donor.
